Phil on final John Martyn album

Good day Phil fans!

As mentioned in this article from the Guardian, Phil is making an appearance on the late singer John Martyn's posthumous release, Heaven and Earth.

Phil is singing on Martyn's cover of Phil's own song from Both Sides, "Can't Turn Back the Years."

Phil has had a long association, personally and professionally, with John Martyn, and this is sure to be an interesting collaboration to hear.

Enjoy!

At first, I did not like it.   I thought his voice was awful, like someone who just got out of bed.  Now it has grown on me.  I just wish I could understand his voice better.

I can only go off what I have heard and that is that Phil and John were good pals - sadly, we can't turn back the years, but it's a fitting tribute to both musicians that they should reunite on this record and their genius be immortalised......" we'll never know how many times.......we fly so close........we fly so close."  -yeah... it helps to get the lyrics right if you're planning on using quotation marks....apologies to Philip.

As Phil Collins has high regard and respect for John Martyn, it's really cool that Phil's song 'Can't Turn Back The Years' is on his album.
